She will be responsible for IBM’s business operations, nurturing a growing partner ecosystem and client acquisition across Africa by ensuring higher levels of customer satisfaction.
Ms. Carvalho is tasked to strengthen the IBM businesses on the continent through a deeper level of technical expertise and industry experience. She has more than 20 years of extensive local and regional experience working in the Information Technology, Oil and Gas and Energy industries, which will help her to consolidate IBM’s presence in Africa. She will lead a team which will focus on IBM’s
increased investment in the partner ecosystem.
Earlier, Carvalho held the position of General Manager for Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Sao Tome. She has been instrumental in expanding IBM’s footprint particularly in domains like Hybrid Cloud and AI. Having varied professional experience, Carvalho holds a PhD in Engineering and Masters in Georesources Engineering from the School of Engineering, Science and Technology (Instituto Superior Técnico) at the University of Lisbon.
