Ivorian Prime Minister Patrick Achi announced the launch of a vast social aid plan recently to give a critical push to development works, particularly in the northern part of the country. He was on a visit to the north of the country. The development plan is aimed at a region, which includes bordering Mali and Burkina Faso. As reported by www.trendsnafrica.com several times, the region is infested with jihadist groups, which recruit young people.

Referring to the turbulence in the region, President said that the deepest cause of most crises and instability in the subcontinent was unemployment. Driven by idleness and despair, young people carry out destabilizing acts.

Patrick Achi added that the development works are being carried out in the region including in the neighboring countries like Mali and Burkina Faso. This, he hoped, would allow the young people and all the women to build a decent life and well-being by having access to basic social goods and infrastructure as a catalyst for development. Tougbo and its surroundings have experienced several extremist attacks and the region is classified as a troubled area, where deprivation and poverty are abundant.
