Algeria’s exports to Italy during 2024 were over USD 16 billion, mostly petroleum products. On the other hand, Italy exported goods worth over US$ 3 billion.
The president of the Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, recently received Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the delegation accompanying him.
The meeting was attended by the chief of staff of the presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, the minister of State, minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, the director general of the Department of Europe at the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Toufik Djouama, and the ambassador of Algeria to Rome, Mohamed Khelifi.

Bilateral trade and investment issues were discussed at the meeting. Italy depends on Algeria for its energy needs in the wake of disruptions in the supply of petroleum products from Russia.
