Fez – SupPlant, an Israeli company specializing in “precision agriculture” and “smart farming,” has revealed that in collaboration with Moroccan company Rahatech, SupPlant proposes to support Moroccan farmers. The partnership will lead to improvement in their productivity while cutting costs, by using its smart farming technology .

Elaborating its strategy in its statement, SupPlant’s spokesperson said that the company specialises in changing the basic concept of irrigation methods and focuses on the real and instantaneous needs of plants. The company claimed that its technology enables it to develop a perfectly personalized irrigation protocol in 6 weeks’ time.

SupPlant’s unique Artificial Intelligence-based system applies an advanced algorithm that analyzes live plant and soil data, and also forecasts weather conditions and irrigation needs. This information is passed on to the farmer who can use it for more accurate farming. Sensors on the level of the fruit, the leaf, the stem, and the trunk, as well as in the soil at various depths are installed to monitor the actual water needs. SupPlant has a vast database that is fed to the SupPlant algorithm under the supervision of a team of agricultural engineers that ensures that farmers are given high-precision irrigation information.

“Smart farming” has been central to the country’s sustainability agenda since the launch of the Green Morocco Plan in 2008.
