The United Nations announced on January 8th the launch of a peace process bringing together “all key civilian and military stakeholders.” The UN Security Council proposes to hold a meeting next week to discuss the situation and help Sudan resolve its political crisis. Mona Juul, the Permanent Representative of Norway and President of the UN Security Council for Sudan, is expected to hold a session to discuss the situation in Sudan.
