Close on the heels of the African Union being inducted into the G-20, a significant milestone that will bind the largest continent into the mainstream of developed and emerging economies, the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), an India based apex organization of ICT entrepreneurs is taking delegations to two East African countries-Kenya and Tanzania-as a part of its continuous outreach program of African ICT market.
“Our studies and surveys reveal that there is an untapped ICT market in the African continent as a whole and Kenya and Tanzania in particular. The stellar role being played by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to induct the African Union into the G20 fold can be leveraged to penetrate into these two markets, which are focusing on the digital infrastructure and building sophisticated interactive platforms;” says Sandeep Narula, Chairman ESC, adding that both countries are middle-income countries and, of late the government expenditure on building digital infrastructure is huge, which can be successfully tapped by Indian entrepreneurs.
The first port of call of the high-powered ESC delegation led by Rajesh MR, CEO of DTC Infotech Private Ltd. is Nairobi in Kenya, where it will have extensive discussions with Kenyan ICT entrepreneurs at B2B meetings at Nairobi in Hotel Golden Tulip Westlands on 11th September. Amongst the agenda of the delegation include interfaces with Namgya C Khampa, High Commissioner of India in Kenya, and other senior officials of the High Commission.
