Addressing the second India-Africa Defense Dialogue (IADD) held in Gandhi Nagar, Gujrat, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh invited African countries to explore Indian defense equipment and technologies. He assured that the Indian defense industry was ready to fulfill the requirements of Africa.
He added that India had a robust private and public defense industry and a defense manufacturing ecosystem with abundant technical manpower that can fulfill Africa’s defense requirements. About 20 defense ministers from Africa participated in the conference. He also underlined that India’s defense and security partnership with the African continent will continue to be guided by the traditional goodwill toward African people.
He urged India and Africa to explore new areas including capacity building, training in cyber security, maritime security, and counter-terrorism. A “Gandhinagar Declaration” adopted at the close of the IADD proposed cooperation in the field of training in all areas of mutual interest.
