Nassoro, a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), received the appointment during last month’s global camp in China.
Tanzanian student Natasha Nassoro has been appointed Huawei Global Ambassador 2025 Seeds Accelerator for the Southern Africa region. Nassoro, a fourth-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering at the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), received the appointment during last month’s global camp in China.
The camp, hosted at Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen, aimed to inspire students in digitalisation, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Speaking to The Citizen yesterday, Nassoro expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.
The camp covered the Seeds for the Future Global Ambassador Programme. Participants gained insights into the ICT sector, explored sustainability innovations through the Tech4Good initiative, and connected with a network of emerging technology leaders.
The group also visited innovation hubs like Alibaba Group, Huawei’s Global Training Centre, Red Note, and the Huawei Flagship Store. Cultural activities included tours of Shanghai, World Café sessions, and other events. Nassoro noted that Huawei launched the Seeds for the Future programme in Thailand in 2008. Since then, it has reached 141 countries and benefited over 18,000 students.
