Following the cabinet’s online meeting, the Moroccan government has extended the state of health emergency until Feb. 28 to curb the spread of the pandemic.

Following the cabinet’s online meeting, the Moroccan government has extended the state of health emergency until Feb. 28 to curb the spread of the pandemic. However, the decision about the reopening of the country’s borders is yet to be taken. Since Nov. 29, 2021Morocco has suspended international passenger flights and closed Morocco’s borders. The total number of infections reported in the country as of 27th January is 1,120,087.

The nationwide vaccination campaign was launched in Morocco in Jan. 2021. The Ministry of Health of Morocco has approved Oxford–AstraZeneca, Sputnik V, and Sinopharm BIBP.
