President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi issued a decree appointing Hassan Abdullah former Vice Chairman & Managing Director of the Arab African International Bank (AAIB), as acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Abdullah recently was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the United Media Company.i. He is also currently founder and Chairman of advisory and private equity firm Panther Associates.

Hassan Abdullah began his career in the Arab African International Bank in Egypt in 1982, then moved in 1988 to the bank’s branch in New York. He was appointed in 1994 as Assistant General Manager, then General Manager in 1999, and Vice Chairman and Managing Director in 2000. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab and French Banks in Hong Kong, and the founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Loyalty to Egypt” Foundation. He holds an MBA from the American University in Cairo in 1992, and a BA in Business Administration in 1982 from the same university.
