Christians celebrated Easter in an atmosphere of fear and tension, the first since M23 rebels took over the city in January. They expressed a profound longing for peace.

Insecurity and tension took their toll in the region. In the war between the M23 rebels and the DRC forces, several people died and were injured. DRC and several other countries blame Rwanda for backing the rebels, which the country denies.
