The Information Minister of Ghana, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has revealed that, the government is poised to inject about $2 billion into the Ghanaian economy to arrest the depreciation of the  Cedi.

About 750 million dollars from the Afremix Bank is expected to be credited into the accounts of the Bank of Ghana this week as well as another cocoa syndicated loan of $1.3 billion. As a result, the local currency is expected to stabilise. He urged people to resist the urge to hold on to the US dollars as the market will soon be injected with foreign currency. The Ghanian cedi fell by at least 35 percent in 2022.
