Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo submitted his nomination forms to the Electoral Commission recently to seek re-election as president. The election for which will take place in December. The president visited the election commissioner’s office to file the nomination.
Incidentally, this is the first time a sitting president of the republic has visited the commission to submit his nomination forms. The election commission, if clears his name, Akufo-Addo would lead the ruling New Patriotic Party as a presidential candidate for the fourth time since 2008. He is currently the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
From 2001 to 2003, he served as the Attorney General of the country and later served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2003 to 2007).
