Gambia to deepen bilateral economic ties with Turkey

On the occasion of the National Day of Turkey, Mamadou Tangara, the minister of Foreign Affairs, International Corporation, Gambia has conveyed the deep interest of the Government of Gambia to deepen the bilateral ties with Turkey.

Thanking Turkey for being a constant and strategic partner, particularly in key sectors including education, health, defense, agriculture, and fisheries, the Minister stated that the Gambia was committed continue its unwavering support to Turkey. Tangara noted that the shared vision and common membership of the various international organizations, shared belief in multilateralism, peace, and security, and development around the world have defined the collaboration and engagements bilaterally and multilaterally. He also underlined the key role of the Joint Economic Commission to promote bilateral trade and investment. The next session of the Joint Economic Commission is scheduled to be held by the end of this year. The commencement of operations of Turkish Airlines, he said has opened up new frontiers in business between the two countries.
