Gabon’s former Prime Minister dies of Coronavirus

    Gabon’s former Prime Minister Casimir Oye Mba who served as prime minister from 1990 to 1994 succumbed to coronavirus at a hospital in Paris, France.

  • The 79-year-old former leader was admitted at a hospital in the country’s capital – Libreville – for a week, but was later shifted to France in critical condition.

Gabon’s former Prime Minister Casimir Oye Mba who served as prime minister from 1990 to 1994 succumbed to coronavirus at a hospital in Paris, France. The 79-year-old former leader was admitted to a hospital in the country’s capital – Libreville – for a week, but was later shifted to France in critical condition.

Casimir Oye Mba served as minister many times, and also was governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), the common bank of six Central African countries headquartered in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Paying tribute to the deceased former PM, the country’s current President Ali Bongo  said that Oye Mba will be remembered as a statesman who devoted his life to the public.
