France Holds Parleys with Libya to Discuss Direction of Political Process

The Second Vice President of the High Council of State (HCS) Libya, Omar Al-Obaidi, discussed recently with the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, developments in the political process in Libya.

This came during a meeting held at the council’s headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the Chairman of the Council’s Political Affairs Committee and the Political Advisor at the French Embassy, according to the Council’s communication office.

The office added that the meeting discussed the initiative of the UN Envoy, Abdoulaye Bathily, and steps taken to end transitional stages and affirmed the need to reach a national consensus that leads to holding parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible.
