France and Angola to strengthen partnership in food and energy sector

French President Emmanuel Macron has visited Angola, where he was received by his counterpart recently.  Emmanuel Macron was in Luanda with an aim to develop links with Angola in areas including the food industry and energy

French President Emmanuel Macron has visited Angola, where he was received by his counterpart recently.  Emmanuel Macron was in Luanda with an aim to develop links with Angola in areas including the food industry and energy.

 Macron spent time with Angolan President Joao Lourenço to discuss also the situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and wanted the role of Angola to supervise and monitor the mechanism of the ceasefire. Negotiations are underway among the global community to put an end to the ongoing war in the region.

The French President who is on a lightning visit was accompanied by business leaders. They attended the Luanda Business Forum. Angola and France also signed an agricultural and agri-food production partnership. Angola is keen to strengthen its ties with France in the food and energy sector. The French business delegation which accompanied Macron had one-to-one talks with the Angolan businesses.
