Financial Inclusion picks up in Egypt

  • With the growth of digital services and adoption of the same by banks and institutions, financial inclusion has improved in Egypt

The banking services related to financial inclusion increased by more than 110 percent within the past five years in Egypt, according to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) Deputy Governor Sherif Loqman.

Efforts by the CBE to support access to the digital services has helped financial inclusion over the past three years. This has helped in attaining quantum leap in providing services related to the rehabilitation of the infrastructure for digital transformation.

The deputy governor also revealed that E-commerce transactions in Egypt reached about LE 200 billion.
