The 56th edition of the Maputo International Fair (FACIM) opened on August 30. It will run until September 5th at the institution’s premises in Ricatla, Marracuene district, Maputo province. It has more than 130 exhibitors signed up for the event, lesser then what it was expected and the participation in the last event.
The exhibition has the theme “Industrialisation, Innovation and Diversification of the National Economy”. FACIM, was cancelled last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now it is taking place in a hybrid form with both on-site exhibitors and virtual participants.
FACIM is the oldest multi-sector trade fair in Mozambique. It promotes business opportunities with various brands, services and products exhibiting. In terms of international participation, the government’s projection was for 24 countries to participate, but there is a drop in the participation of the exhibitors from other countries.
