Africa will have more factories in the pharmaceutical sector. This seems to be one of the priorities in the  partnership deal between the African Union and the European Union. Revealing this the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that the European bloc is working with the African countries for setting up pharmaceutical companies in Africa. Charles Michel was on a visit to Luanda, capital of Angola.

The European Union is working with the European Investment Bank for this purpose, EU union President said, adding that such steps were important to Africa to beef up its supply chain in the pharmaceutical sector. The cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector would involve both the private and public sector of Africa.

During his short visit to Angola, Charles Michel also met with Angolan President João Lourenço, who said that the Angolan economy, which was centered around oil, needed diversification to hedge against vulnerability since such models of growth based on a particular product would cast uncertainty.   He observed that the Angolan economy was seriously committed to diversification with a strong focus on the private sector through the creation of a better business environment that attracts private and foreign investors.

The president of the European Council met with the acting president of the African Union and also of the DRC Félix Tshisekedi in Kinshasa. He discussed with them the mechanisms for resolving the security crisis in the country and strengthening the partnership between the European Union and the African Union in  several other  spheres.
