EU Discuss Cooperation in Oil, Gas, and Renewed Energy with Libya

 The Head of the European Union [EU) Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, cooperation in the field of sustainable development of the oil and gas sectors, renewable energy, environmental protection, and energy interconnection, with a significant contribution from the private sector.

The Head of the European Union [EU) Delegation to Libya, Nicola Orlando, discussed with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, cooperation in the field of sustainable development of the oil and gas sectors, renewable energy, environmental protection, and energy interconnection, with a significant contribution from the private sector.

This came during a meeting held in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, where Orlando stressed that increasing Libya’s oil and gas production sustainably and benefiting from its enormous potential in the field of renewable energy, are common priorities for both parties, according to a statement by the European Delegation on its Facebook page.

The two parties agreed to cooperate in reducing methane emissions and supporting Libya’s commitment to ending the burning of natural gas through flares. Orlando also expressed the European Union’s aspiration to deepen the partnership with Libya in the field of sustainable energy, according to the statement.
