Ethiopia’s export earnings from forest produce are on the rise

During the past 10 months, Ethiopia managed to export 2,300 quintals of forest produce according to the Ethiopian Agricultural Works Corporation. The corporation also revealed that the country has earned  600,000 USD from natural resins and incense exports in the past ten months of the current Ethiopian fiscal year.

The  six year old corporation plays a key role in promoting sales of forest products such as incense, natural resins and myrrh to local and international markets. It supports farmers by providing agricultural inputs and implementing integrated agricultural mechanization services at affordable prices.

During the last six years of its existence, the corporation has earned over 13 million USD from the export of incense, natural resins, myrrh and apricot, and 79 million Birr from domestic production.
