Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s biggest and most profitable is still in
business thanks to its enterprising spirit. While most of the
continent’s airlines are hit by the pandemic and grounded, Ethiopian
continues flying in two main operation zones – cargo and repatriation
flights. It is flying across the world carrying cargoes delivering
much needed materials in the fight against COVID-19. It recently
transported supplies from Hong Kong to  various destinations across
the world. On May 4, the Airline carried international cargo from
Burkina Faso to Frankfurt in Germany carrying  52 tons of fruits
produced by farmers, thereby helping farmers in Burkina Faso.

Apart from engaging in cargo movement, the airline has also been at
the forefront of repatriating foreign citizens out of Africa, such as
Cameroon to Canada, one of the long haulage for any airline. It flew
the stranded passengers non-stop, receiving kudos from industry.
Ethiopian also actively participated in Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed’s
mission of    distribution of medical supplies donated to the
continent by Chinese businessman Jack Ma and  flew across Africa
deploying the materials.
