- Adding to its expanding global network, Ethiopian Airlines has introduced three weekly flights to Zurich. With the new connection to Zürich, Ethiopian Airlines will have seven flights to Switzerland per week.
Adding to its expanding global network, Ethiopian Airlines has introduced three weekly flights to Zurich. In a statement issued by the Airlines, it was stated that the first flight from Addis Ababa to Zürich will take off on 31 October 2022, operated with the ultra-modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner. With the new connection to Zürich, Ethiopian Airlines will have seven flights to Switzerland per week.
The Zürich connection will be19th gateway to Europe for the Airlines, and the second destination in Switzerland other than Geneva.
Speaking about the launch of the new flight, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Mesfin Tasew remarked that it will expand Ethiopian Airlines’ presence in Switzerland and Europe at large. The new connection to the financial and industrial center of Switzerland is expected to boost diplomatic and socioeconomic ties between Ethiopia and Switzerland, and also between Africa and Europe. Tasew added that as a pan-African carrier, the Airlines is committed to enhancing its global network and connecting Africa with the rest of the world. It accounts for a major share of the Pan African passenger and cargo network.
