The policy was revised with the main goals of facilitating economic reform, creation of job opportunities, augmenting foreign exchange earnings, and increasing national productivity
The Ethiopian Ministry of Innovation and Technology has started implementing the revised Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy. The policy was revised with the main goals of facilitating economic reform, creation of job opportunities, augmenting foreign exchange earnings, and increasing national productivity. The policy got approval from the Council of Ministers this year.
The Minister of Innovation and Technology Bekelle Molla said that the revised policy was designed to create a skilled and competent workforce and build an economy that was supported by technology.

The policy was prepared to achieve the goals set as a part of the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030, Africa’s Agenda 2063, and Science, Technology, and Innovation Strategy for Africa 2024.
