Ethiopia and the Republic of Cyprus have agreed to strengthen bilateral ties by working closely in areas such as education, health, tourism and agriculture.

Ethiopian Ambassador Demitu Hambisa recently met with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides, and discussed bilateral, regional and international issues as well as current situation in Ethiopia.
During the discussions, Ambassador Demitu Habisa also spoke about the efforts of the government to provide humanitarian assistance to the affected areas in Ethiopia hit by natural and manmade crisis.The status of the National Dialogue committee and the efforts of the government towards human rights violation accountability also came up for discussion.
