Equatorial Guinea’s President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who has the longest innings in the world as the president-43 years- will stand again for the next election as a presidential candidate in November elections. Importantly, his jet-setting son Teodoro Nguema Obiang is the vice president. The announcement of his father’s candidature for the next presidential election was made by none other than the son, who is widely believed to be in control of the situation and was rumoured to be the next candidate for the presidential election. As reported by www.trendsnafrica.com, Obiang’s Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea holds 99 of the 100 seats in the outgoing lower house of parliament and all 70 of the Senate seats.

Analysts say re-election of the incumbent is a foregone conclusion because of the brutal majority in both the houses.
