Egyptian exports to Somalia saw significant growth, totalling USD 122.9 million in 2024, up from USD 55.8 million in 2023. On the other hand, Egypt’s imports from Somalia amounted to USD 4.8 million in 2024, doubling the USD 2.4 million recorded in 2023.

According to the latest data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), the trade volume between Egypt and Somalia reached USD 127.7 million in 2024, a substantial increase from USD 58.2 million in 2023.

Egyptian exports to Somalia saw significant growth, totaling USD 122.9 million in 2024, up from USD 55.8 million in 2023. On the other hand, Egypt’s imports from Somalia amounted to USD 4.8 million in 2024, doubling the USD 2.4 million recorded in 2023.

Among Egypt’s key exports to Somalia in 2024 were milling products valued at USD 60 million, sugar and confectionery at USD 29 million, tobacco and pharmaceutical products at USD 6 million each, and prepared vegetables and fruits worth USD 3 million. Egypt primarily brought in live animals worth USD 4 million and gum and plant extracts valued at USD 800,000.

The report also highlighted a significant rise in remittances from Egyptians working in Somalia, which reached USD 884,000 during FY 2023-24, compared to USD 299,000 in FY 2022-23.
