Egypt’s Trade Surplus with Cyprus Increases

Egypt’s exports to Cyprus saw a remarkable increase, totalling USD 181 million in the first 11 months of 2024, up from USD 96 million in the corresponding period of 2023.

The value of trade between Egypt and Cyprus reached USD 217 million during the first 11 months of 2024, compared to USD 108 million in the same period of 2023, according to the latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).Egypt’s exports to Cyprus saw a remarkable increase, totalling USD 181 million in the first 11 months of 2024, up from USD 96 million in the corresponding period of 2023.

 Key export products included iron and steel, valued at USD 92 million, fertilisers at USD 43 million, paper at USD 8 million, and plastics at USD 6 million.On the other hand, Egypt’s imports from Cyprus rose to USD 36 million during the same period, compared to USD 12 million in 2023.The main imported goods included fuel and mineral oils worth USD 28 million, electrical equipment and devices valued at USD 4 million, and pharmaceutical products at USD 1 million.

Cypriot investments in Egypt surged to USD 114.6 million during the 2023-24 fiscal year, a dramatic rise from USD 35.2 million in 2022-23. Similarly, Egyptian investments in Cyprus increased to USD 40 million in 2023-24, compared to USD 17.3 million in the previous fiscal year.
