The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum announced that one of its companies had received a Guinness World Records certificate in the field of manufacturing, storing crude oil storage depots. By using an unprecedented method in the implementation and construction of the warehouse using a double and movable floating roof system and use of 240 hydraulic lifts, the storage facility is unique in many respects.

This is the first and largest method of its kind with regard to the construction of storage warehouses in the world, with a warehouse capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, equivalent to more than one million barrels of crude oil, claims Egypt’s petroleum ministry. The warehouse has a diameter of 115 meters and a weight of more than 3000 tons.

The project consists of 29 warehouses that were established in the same manner.

The procedures for registering the warehouse in the Guinness Book of Records came through the approval of the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum.
