Egypt’s Industrial Production Marginally Up

This rise is attributed to the increased demand for dairy products and oils. The Index for the Beverage Industry reached 342.06 in January 2025, compared to 278.25 in December 2024, with a rise of 22.93%, reflecting market demand.

Egypt’s Industrial Production Index (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 118.92 in January 2025 (preliminary), as against 118.22 in December 2024 (final). This reflects an increase of 0.59%, according to the latest data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization (CAPMAS).

The Index for the Food Products Industry stood at 147.54 in January 2025, compared to 115.57 in December 2024, representing a 27.67% increase.

This rise is attributed to the increased demand for dairy products and oils. The Index for the Beverage Industry reached 342.06 in January 2025, compared to 278.25 in December 2024, with a rise of 22.93%, reflecting market demand.

On the other hand, the Index for the Leather and Leather Products Industry was 39.37 in January 2025, compared to 54.01 in December 2024, showing a decline of 27.11%, according to market needs.

The Index for the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Medicinal Products Industry stood at 121.67 in January 2025, compared to 157.93 in December 2024, reflecting a decrease of 22.96%, also in line with market demand.
