Egypt’s exports to Western countries grow significantly

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Egypt Ahmed Samir said that his country’s exports in 2022 to France, Germany, Greece, Saudi Arabia, and Spain saw a significant jump.

The minister added that trade exchange rates between Egypt and Greece increased during 2022 by 19.7 percent reaching 2 billion euros. Egyptian exports to Greece achieved an unprecedented growth of 30 percent in 2022, reaching 1.67 billion euros.

The trade minister said that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany in 2022 recorded almost 5.5 billion euros, and commodity exports to Germany passed the 1 billion euros mark last year for the first time. The trade exchange rate between Egypt and Saudi Arabia increased during 2022 by 24 percent, reaching $5.6 billion, and Egyptian exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to $2.6 billion.

Samir referred to the development of foreign trade indicators between Egypt and France, noting that Egyptian exports to France increased by 136 percent by the end of 2022, to record 2.1 billion euros. The Egyptian merchandise exports to the French market in 2022 recorded an increase of 54 percent recording 1.1 billion euros.
