Egypt’s exports to the United States of America rose 56.3 percent in 2021. In absolute terms, it works out to US$2.5 billion, representing 5.8 percent of Egypt’s exports to the world, as against US$1.6 billion in 2020.
Exports of ready-made garments ranked first with 47.6 percent of total exports to the United States of America. It touched the US $1.2 billion in 2021, compared to $0.8 billion in 2020. This was an increase of 50 percent.

In the meantime, Egypt’s imports from the US grew by 27.1 percent, to US$6.1 billion in 2021. This was 7.4 percent of Egypt’s imports from the world as against US$4.8 billion in 2020.
Imports of grains, oil fruits, and medicinal plants came first with a rate of 26.8 percent of the total imports from the United States of America. In absolute terms, it worked out to US$1.6 billion in 2021, compared to $1.5 million in 2020, registering an increase of 6.7 percent.
