Elsewedy Industrial Development (SD), a subsidiary of Egypt’s Elsewedy Electric, announced the launch of a huge industrial city in Tanzania, which aims to attract over US$400 million in investments and generate over 50,000 jobs to support industrial growth in the African country.

The industrial city will support Tanzania’s drive to become an industrial nation. The East African country has laid out an industrial development plan to provide important support for the country’s industrial development and the industrial development strategy for 2025. The new City plan can accommodate 200 factories in sectors of strategic importance to Tanzania in particular and the region in general, such as medicines, building materials, food and beverage industries, and engineering industries.

The city includes El Sewedy Academy for Technical Education and Vocational Training, which boasts of highest international standards. The new project is located in Kibaha, Tanzania, 15 kilometers away from the “Kwala” Dry Port. The port is well connected with the “Rovos” Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), which extends over a length of two thousand kilometers, connecting Dar es Salaam, the industrial city, and the Dry Port, which facilitates the transportation of people and goods
