The centuries-old market used to bustle with tourists coming from all over the world during the pre-Covid -19 days.
Everyone in the market now is glued to the return of Chinese tourists, which might help boost the flagging businesses. Chinese tourists ranked fourth in the pecking order, who landed in Egypt visiting its historical sites and sunny beaches. They were also keen buyers of Turkish products.

The tourist flows during the first half of 2022, were only 4.9 million. That marked a smart recovery of close to 85 % higher compared to the previous year.
