 The aircraft had undergone inspection to assess and address the effects of the bird strike. EgyptAir diverted Flight MS985, originally headed from Cairo to New York, to provide medical assistance to a passenger who experienced a sudden health issue.

Immediate first aid was administered to the affected woman before the aircraft made an emergency landing at Geneva Airport. The plane resumed its journey to New York later.
