The Ministry of Local Development of Egypt said that work was underway to provide 100 new buses powered by electricity. This is in addition to implementing “green” Egyptian cities, in cooperation with the World Bank involving a cost of US$200 million. The work towards the project has already been started.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attaches great importance to the new solid waste management system to ensure greening of cities and maintain ecological balance. The government is providing the necessary funding for its implementation in all governorates.
The focus is on transforming the management of the various tracks and lines in internal transport, to a rational management. Also efforts are underway to convert buses from the black candle “diesel” to the white candle, which runs on either natural gas or electricity. The World Bank supported project entails a cost of US$200 million.
