Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Honeywell Egypt to transform government entities into smart institutions. The MoU aims at achieving sustainable digital operational excellence for Egyptian government institutions and transforming them into smart institutions based on modern, environmentally friendly technology.
The signing came on the sidelines of the COP27 Climate Summit, currently being held in Sharm El-Sheikh, in the presence of Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa MAdbouli, and Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat.

The MoU was signed by Ghada Labib, Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Institutional Development Affairs, and Khaled Hashem, President of Honeywell for North Africa. The memorandum of understanding aims at the joint institutional cooperation between the ministry and Honeywell Egypt, to transform the new building of the General Office of South Sinai Governorate, and the Sharm El-Sheikh Hospital building, into sustainable smart buildings to achieve the highest rates of efficiency, and reduce energy waste rates for buildings.
