Egyptian exports to Arab countries have reached US$830 million in June this year from US$696.9 million in June 2019, an increase worth $133.1 million.

Egyptian exports to Arab countries have reached US$830 million in June this year from US$696.9 million in June 2019, an increase worth $133.1 million. However, Arab countries’ exports to Egypt declined by US$333.9 million to record $496.2 in June instead of $830.1 million in June 2019.
The non-petroleum exports of Egypt registered US$16 billion during the first eight months of 2020. This is revealed in the data released by the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC) recently.
The data also showed a 4.7 percent decrease in non-petroleum exports which hit $16.752 billion during the same period last year. The non-petroleum exports last month increased by 5%, registering US$1.741 billion compared to $1.694 billion in August 2019. Significantly, the Egyptian Export Council for Printing, Packaging, Paper, Literary and Artistic Works, recorded US $68 million in August compared to US$45 million in August last year. This works out a meaty 51%.
Medical exports vaulted by a 30 percent increase, registering to US$40 million in August 2020 compared to US$30 million in August 2019. Exports of handcrafted products and chemicals and fertilizers also went up 41 percent and 11 percent, respectively during August 2020 as compared to the same period in the previous year. In absolute terms, these worked out at US$16 million and $423 in August 2020 respectively last month, as against US$14 million and US$380 million during the same month a year ago.
