Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting to review national efforts to secure the supply of medicines and medical products, and to advance the localization of the pharmaceutical industry, according to a statement from the Cabinet.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El-Khatib, as well as the heads of the Egyptian Drug Authority and the Unified Procurement Authority, along with other senior officials.

He affirmed that the pharmaceutical sector remains a top priority under President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives, which call for the localization of pharmaceutical production using advanced technologies and through partnerships with international companies. The objective, he said, is to meet local demand while expanding Egypt’s pharmaceutical exports, particularly to African markets.
