Egypt and Qatar sign MOU to strengthen economic cooperation

Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and his Qatari counterpart Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum, which aims at fostering joint cooperation

Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait and his Qatari counterpart Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum, which aims at fostering joint cooperation.

It is also meant to exchange expertise in the fields of taxation, customs, and financial policies for achieving economic and development goals. The MoU paves the way for strengthening cooperation between Egypt and Qatar to sustain consultation on financial policies and mechanisms for reaching an agreement on preventing double taxation between the two sides with a view to stimulating joint investments.

The two ministers praised the tangible progress made in the course of Egypt-Qatar. They also emphasized their keenness to bolster bilateral relations, especially in the economic and investment fields, with a focus on all development and technology sectors to ensure the optimal use of all available opportunities for bilateral cooperation in light of the current global economic challenges.
