Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Nivine Gamee said that the strategic partnership with the European Union would help exchange expertise between the two regions to catalyze the growth of the medium and small enterprises. Egypt, line with many other African countries, strongly believes that growth of the SMEs is critical to pull the economy from the post covid-19 impact.
The minister was talking at a webinar on “Egypt’s exports through product innovation project (EEPI) which is a project funded by the European Union. The project is a part of the EU Program: “Promoting Inclusive Economic Growth in Egypt”. It is being implemented by EEC in cooperation with the Egyptian partner Innovety LLC, Consorzio ARCA from Italy, and Globally Cool from the Netherlands.
The project is aimed at improving export competitiveness of Egyptian Engineering companies by technology transfer, innovation or product adaptation. The project also identifies partners for in both the countries for joint ventures and other forms of production processes.
