The $3.5 billion1 443km crude oil export pipeline will transport Uganda’s crude oil from Kabaale to Tanga in Tanzania.

The Project offers tremendous business opportunities to private players in areas such as transportation, securities, food and beverage, hospitality, Human Resource Management, office supplies, Civil works, Finance, the supply of construction materials, and many more. The project will also offer local contracts opportunities for fuel supply, land surveying, clearing and forwarding, crane hire, local construction materials, civil works, environmental studies and impact assessment and ICT services.

In view of the scope of business under the project, TPSF and PSFU are jointly organising Tanzania – Uganda Oil and Gas Symposium on November 25 th in Dar es salaam. The event is expected to provide an effective platform for the private sector of the two countries to network, assess the industry opportunities and challenges, explore areas of cooperation and showcase their capacities through experience sharing. The participants can also interact with public sector actors on legal and policy experts of  both Uganda and Tanzania

The Symposium under the theme “Enhancing Private Sector Participation in the Oil and Gas Sector” is hosted by TPSF and supported by Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Uganda High Commission in Tanzania and Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy. The organisers are confident that the Symposium will lead to partnerships and joint ventures between Ugandan and Tanzania private sector actors in the oil & gas industry projects opening the door for a sustainable Private Sector development of the two countries.
