Dubai company to invest in realty sector in Egypt

Majid Al Futtaim, the Dubai based metal developer will invest close to US$ 1 billion in Egypt over the next two to three years in real estate sector, of which a major chunk of investment will be towards building a single mall in Cairo. Majid Al Futtaim also has plans to invest in Uganda in the mall sector. The well known company has considerable interest in building cinemas in the Gulf countries and will spend 2 billion Saudi riyals (US$533.6 million) building cinemas in Saudi Arabia as part of a five-year 16 billion riyal investment plan.

The company has a tie-up with  the French retailer Carrefour SA in 37 and franchise rights in markets in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia and operates more than 280 stores. Now, the company has plans to invest in Uganda. Since 2015, the Saudi based company invested around 28 billion Egyptian pounds in Egypt in sectors like retail, hospitality and integrated city projects.
