The FDA group of DRC is turning the environmental problem into an economic resource. FDA Group is converting the plastic waste into an asset in Bukavu by transforming the city’s plastic waste into cheap, hard-wearing paving slabs for building driveways and forecourts across the city. These cobblestones are cheaper and easy to clean compared to cement cobblestones. The FDA factory  in the city collects the plastic trash where it is melted down and scraped into hexagonal metal moulds. These slabs are sold to customers. The initiative not only contributes to saving the environment but also generates jobs.
