The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) has revealed that the 49th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) is poised to broaden the global outlook and sharpen the business skills of local entrepreneurs.
TanTrade’s Senior Trade Officer, Mohamed Nyasama, noted that this year’s event will feature participation from around 30 countries, bringing both economic and educational benefits. “We expect significant foreign currency inflows from international participants. More importantly, their involvement offers local traders’ critical exposure to global business practices and market insights,” he said.
Nyasama highlighted that for many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the fair will be their first direct interaction with international markets. This, he said, could serve as a transformative experience. “DITF could be a turning point for local entrepreneurs. It offers a chance to understand international trade dynamics and potentially sets them on a path to becoming global business leaders,” he added.
He emphasised that TanTrade views the fair not just as a commercial event, but as a platform to cultivate Tanzania’s next generation of world-class entrepreneurs through networking, knowledge-sharing, and exposure to best practices from around the globe.
