Direct flight between Paris and Zanzibar launched

• A new direct flight from the French capital Paris to Tanzania’s archipelago Zanzibar has been launched by the French Minister for Foreign Trade.
• Tanzania is a favourite tourist destination for the French with a monthly arrival of an average of 7,000 tourists from France.

A new direct flight from the French capital Paris to Tanzania’s archipelago Zanzibar has been launched by the French Minister for Foreign Trade and Economic Attractiveness Franck Riester.  He landed in Zanzibar on the direct flight from Paris.

Tanzania is a favourite tourist destination for French with a monthly arrival of an average of 7,000 tourists from France. The number is expected to go up significantly with the introduction of the new Paris-Zanzibar direct flight. Tanzania is set to benefit from the direct flight as it will give a boost to Tanzania’s sagging tourism sector which had been hit hard by the global Covid-19 pandemic. Zanzibar’s economy was the worst hit as its economy actually runs on the tourism industry.
