Digital Divide Still Pronounced: UN

UN officials also showed data on the world’s top digital performers. Denmark is topping the list. Among the 18 leading countries are Germany, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. The UN  calls for more support to developing nations, especially in Africa, to reduce digital inequalities.

Poor digital connectivity is the main reason for the lack of pick-up of digitization in Africa. Even here, there are wide disparities between the nations. For instance, countries like Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, etc have higher internet penetration as compared to countries in Central and West Africa.
