Dangote Cement Tanzania has launched Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in 13 villages in the region. Almost Sh648 million has been allocated for the implementation of the project. This is the company’s first CSR initiative in the country since its establishment in 2015.The projects that will get the support under the community investment and Sustainable Development Goals, (SDGs) are in the areas of education, health, water and sanitation.
The company recently handed over a 60-metre water well-constructed at the Imekua Village in Mtwara District.The spokesman from the company said that the initiative was undertaken in response to several requests from the villages around the company.
In the commemoration of SDG Week, the company has pledged its support to the government in the tree planting initiatives, investment to the community and campaigning against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and increasing awareness against the Covid-19 vaccination..
