A cruise line between Libya and Tunisia was launched recently. This is the first time in over 11 years a cruise is plying between the two countries. The launch ceremony of the cruise line was attended by Libyan Minister of Transport Mohamed al-Shuhubi, the Tunisian Ambassador to Libya al-As’ad al-Ajli, and a number of senior Libyan officials.

Efforts are being made in the future to launch several cruise lines from Libya to several neighbouring countries, heralding a new phase of its development process, although peace has not yet fully returned to the country.
The Libyans were waiting for the launch of this cruise line for over a decade, which would help not only trade and tourism but would serve as a signal to express its desire to come out of the present turmoil.
The first cruise trip will be from the capital Tripoli to Tunisia’s, port town Zarzis. Later, Libya will launch cruise lines to Malta, Morocco, and Egypt,” Ala al-Sokni.

Two years ago, the Libyan government launched a cruise line between Libya and Türkiye for the first time in over 20 years. It was aimed at promoting the partnership between the two countries public and private sectors.
